DNB assesses the fitness of candidates proposed by institutions subject to the Wft such as banks, payment institutions or insurance companies based on four elements from the Policy Rule on Fitness 2012 (Dutch only).
- Management, organisation and communication
- The institution's products, services and markets
- Sound and ethical business operations
- Balanced and consistent decision making
The Policy Rule also states sixteen competencies, including independence, persuasiveness, cooperativeness, decisiveness, helicopter view and judgement. Different competencies apply for each position. Candidates therefore do not need to possess all sixteen competencies.
